Warm Spiced Wine

Our little tradition: every year on the weekend after Thanksgiving, we commence the holidays by making mulled wine and decorating for Christmas! It’s such a fun time and throughout the years I’ve tested quite a few versions of mulled wine (some better than others). Warm Spiced Wine is the tried-and-true recipe that is 100% most delicious! Enjoy.


  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 4 clementine’s juiced**
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 green cardamom pods cracked
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 star anise
  • Garnish options: clementine peel extra cinnamon sticks, star anise


  • Combine the cider, wine, clementine juice, honey, cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, cloves and star anise in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Pour into mugs, garnish and serve!
