Grapefruit Brûlée

Grapefruit Brûlée

Warm sweet citrusy dessert- Grapefruit Brûlée is the most delicious dessert-style snack! Best part? It is criminally easy to make! There are minimally specific ingredient proportions listed- you can’t mess it up. In fact the more sugar, butter and honey you add… the better it tastes. Use your best judgement. I love to cook with coconut sugar because I love the subtle sweet taste. Use whatever sugar you prefer.
Servings 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit
  • Coconut Sugar
  • Unsalted butter cut into 2 paper-thin slivers
  • Honey
  • 3 mint leaves finely chopped

Instructions

  • Set the oven broiler on high to heat up.
  • Cut grapefruit in half. Place the cut side up on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Liberally sprinkle coconut sugar over the grapefruit halves. Top with a sliver of butter in the center.
  • Place tray into oven for 4 minutes, or until sugar has melted and gone dark and the grapefruit flesh slightly rises.
  • Remove from oven and place on serving plates.
  • Drizzle with honey and mint and serve.
